Processing method of titanium screw

About titanium screws processing method, there are two common types of machining of titanium screws: cold heading and machining(We also call it CNC).

The material of the machined titanium screws and the cold heading titanium screw are still different.

Machined titanium screws are often produced with titanium alloy, the most common material is titanium Grade5, sometime we also call it Ti-6al4v or TA6V. The chinese name is TC4.

Why choose Ti-6al4v? Because titanium alloy material is relatively hard, has good comprehensive mechanical and mechanical properties. Titanium alloy is more suitable for machining.

Cold heading is mainly natural forming, so the material should not be too hard. The most suitable material is titanium Grade2, we also call it pure titanium or commercial titanium or TA40. The chinese name is TA2. Titanium Grade2 has a soft texture. It also has good plasticity during hot working.

Cold heading screws, the price are relatively cost-effective. But processing screws are more precision in appearance, the precision can reach 0.01mm.
